I'll tell a story just in the chance it will be of interest to someone.
My rig is parked out here at my place and serving as a temporary home for my oldest daughter and her "significant other".
In keeping with the no good deed goes unpunished they left the awning out during a wind storm with predicable results.
The awning was a Carefree of Colorado One Touch. The automatic function has been inop since we got it but we always got by using the manual switch. It seems that Carefree of Colorado stops supporting their products a nanosecond after they are discontinued and that's why we couldn't get a board to fix the thing in the first place. Now with a bent arm we decided to upgrade to a newer system that we could get parts for.
I found a set of new Eclipse arms on E-Bay for a great price so ordered them. Heck, Eclipse is the new model, what can go wrong?
The arms come and the installation is easy until I get to hooking up the wires. Nothing matches any of the wiring instructions from Carefree so I get hold of them to see what I needed.
Surprise! I have bought a brand new setup that was produced before 2010 and they don't support that model any more!
After beating my brains out for a couple days I come to the conclusion that I am missing part of the control system. The E-Bay seller says it isn't his problem, call Carefree.
I finally got it working today by wiring it directly through a slide out switch that was on the rack at Clear Creek RV.
I might have the only Jayco around with a label stuck over the slide out sticker changing it to awning.
