Washer dryer prep

Hello there
My unit came with washer dryer prep however the hot and cold lines are not marked except for one valve being marked with some black paint and one is white. I'd guess black should be hot? Anyone else encounter this?

I think it's the reverse. I'm away for a couple days so I can't verify till Sunday.

If they are arranged side-by-side, the one on the left is generally HOT. If they are stacked, it's anybody's guess. Easy way to find out: turn on your water heater, let it warm up, attached a hose running to the tub/shower or sink (or into a bucket) to one of the valves and turn it on. It may take a little time for the cold water to purge from the line, but you'll know for sure. Just my 2c.

Even if they're side-by-side I would "trust but verify". There was a recent post stating the hot cold were reversed.
