cover for RV

I will not do it where I live. It is always wind here and the cover will rub the paint off. I had this happen to my barbecue.

Oh, now that makes sense. Our dealer said not to get a cover because it can cause damage. I thought maybe because we get a ton of freezing rain ( and sometimes a two-story house worth of snow..like last winter), but I hadn't considered your explanation. That makes sense too.

I'm struggling with the idea to cover or not myself. We get our fair share of wind and snow here in the Rockies. I'm considering just putting covers over the two AC units and tire covers only.

The trouble i had was my 09 eagle has a sloped front cover and all the covers i have found are square, you can't hold the cover from moving. You wouldn't think it would wear the paint that much !!

On my old trailer, I would sometimes cover it, sometimes not. Last winter, ice got into a flaw in one corner and blew it apart.

The new trailer will be covered every winter. Now to find one that fits well and will hold up for a few years.
Bungee cords keep the movement of the fabric to a minimum.

I keep hearing about covers causing damage. But I am yet to see it. our TT's have been covered for the last four years when not in use. No damage yet. And I dont have to wash the TT near as much.

From what I've heard, they balloon from the wind and cause abrasions on the painted surfaces. Hazing if you will.

And what about the thousands of small stones kicked up by the tow vehicle?

Acid rain anyone?

Just the dust being blown by the wind!

Sun fading UV rays!

"OMG my poor baby is gonna get dusty!" Gimme a break.

I'm keeping the autumn leaves out of the A/C and most of the rain/snow/ice from the top/sides/corners!
