Bed stuck in upright position

Hi there,

When we picked up the bed to get to the storage area underneath, the pole (that I believe has a spring inside), got stuck so that it is fully extended. We were unable to close the storage area until we unscrewed the pole from the wall. Has anyone ever had a similar experience and, if so, how did you resolve it?

Welcome to the forum! What trailer do you have? Is it a gas strut that is giving you problems? If it's a new trailer, take the strut off and take it to your dealer to see if they will swap it out. If you are out of warranty, look up the numbers on the strut and pick one up on eBay.

I have one that does the same thing. Since it is new its very hard to get it to lower, just push very hard right over where it connects to the platform, if you push off to one side something may crack. Jayco needs to use a strut that isn't so strong.
