heat from fridge

We took our Jay FLight 34RSBS out for the 4th time.

I noticed the walls on either side of the fridge were unusually warm/hot. This is inside two cabinets on either side. Does anyone know what could cause this, and is it normal/ OK? I'm thinking a lack of insulation?

It's normal. These types of refrigeration use a heat source (propane or electric) to drive the cooling process.

Excess heat is vented, usually through the roof. The heated air being vented heats up the passage on its way out. As far as I know, there is no insulation from the factory for this passage.

Thank you for the reply. Since the fridge is on the slide, there is no roof vent. I have noticed a fan running in the back of the outside panel for the fridge. My fridge has maintained a good, cold temp even in the heat. Our 5ver fridge never worked right until we installed a separate , small fan to vent. I just never noticed any of our other RVs having hot wood.
