New 34 RSBS

We ordered one, unseen, and it just arrived at the dealership. Haven't seen it yet. I'd love to hear from someone who has one, too.

Hey there!

Well you are ahead of us, we just ordered ours. I would love a report back when you get a look at it!

One of the things I want to know is if you can turn the fridge on without having to pull a slide out. I don't think so, but am curious.

We heard the exterior colors are the same as 2016/17 and we ordered the Dune interior but like the Canyon interior as well.

I'm also interested to know how the 48" TV fits in the entertainment center.

thanks

Thank you!

1. Can you reach the fridge to turn it on with the slides IN?

2. Do all functions of the fireplace require a generator? (we dry camp)

3. What is your opinion of the mattress, and if you have the king option what do you think about it?

4. We're moving up from a 32 foot 27RLS, do you have an opinion on towability?

5. Is there anything you found that you didn't expect? pro/con?

THANK YOU!!

34rsbs

Hello?

I think I briefly witnessed an actual 34RSBS owner....but the video was grainy and they scurried off into the woods.

1. No, you have to run the living room slide out about 8-10 inches to reach your frig controls.

2. I don't know but I suspect they do. I'm pretty sure the fireplace functions 100% on AC power. We never dry camp so I haven't tried it.

3. We have a foam mattress topper on ours (a 3" I think) and it is the most comfortable bed we have had in a camper. (We've had 4 before this one).

4. I moved up from a 29 foot White Hawk, can't remember the model we had but it was about 1000 lbs lighter than the 34. Nobody believes me when I tell it but the 34 actually tows better than the lighter White Hawk. I can't explain it. You can feel the weight is back there on the 34 but as far as general towing, gas mileage, etc the 34 tows better. Believe it or not, I tow my 34 with a Ford F-150 5.0 Crew Cab truck. We camp within 100 miles of home and don't have any major hills in the area. I definitely would not tow it to the mountains with my rig but I'm a retired truck driver and feel very comfortable taking it where I do.

5. No bad surprises. Had a problem with the kitchen slide but it was fixed under warranty. The electric stabilizer jacks don't do a good job of taking the sway and bounce out when parked. I think with one this long it probably needs 6 instead of 4. Water heater gets VERY hot and thermostat is not adjustable. You'll have to be careful if you have small kids. I replaced the standard HVAC thermostat with digital. It maintains a constant temperature a LOT better than the old one. The fireplace keeps it warm down to about freezing. Past that you will probably need the furnace. By far the roomiest and most comfortable camper we have ever owned.

If you enjoy yours half as much as we do ours, you will be a happy camper.

Dave, I replied in another post to the other questions but just saw the question about the tv. I'm not at home this week but will measure my tv when I get back. Not sure what size it is but it came installed in the entertainment center above the fireplace. It does a good job and we also added a 32" in the bedroom between the two upper cabinets on the wall opposite the bed.

Thank you

JTBONEY - thank you so much for those responses. I appreciate the time and opinion. Sounds perfect to me, we can get the slide out easily 8-10 inches in the spot we have to park at the storage place. I asked because we cool the fridge down before loading it up and it is nice not to have to pull the TT out of the spot to turn it on.

Excellent! We're excited. Thanks again!

We didn't like the "factory" mattress and purchased one of those that are rolled up in a box (forgot the name).

I can pull ours safely and legally with my Yukon XL, about 125 miles one way to our land.

I am glad that we didn't get the "patio door" option as our camper faces the south and that would bring in way too much sunlight.

I wish we would of gotten the optional skylight that is near the kitchen/dinette.

The second A/C is a must and well worth the extra cost.

we are absolutely loving our 34rsbs. I agree with you on the benefit of the bedroom air and also wish we had the kitchen skylight. It tends to be a little dark if you are in a wooded spot.
The storage is awesome, there is plenty of room when our granddaughter camps with us so that she has a place for all her clothes and toys without everything being in the living area.
Enjoy!!!!

We've had ours for about a week now. The entire process from ordering to delivery was outstanding. I don't know if it's because Jayco knows they are building the unit for someone specific, but we did not have a single walk thru issue we would consider serious. The quality so far has been excellent. Haven't had it on a real trip yet, so I'll update after.

The towing concerns I had aren't an issue. Sure, it's longer and that requires a bit more care. Yesterday we had the unit out in the 105 degree AZ sun for almost the whole day and the dual ACs kept it really cool.

We upgraded the mattress too. I put a second battery on with a switch.

All the generator research I did paid off, and the Honda EU7000 runs everything in the trailer all at once....quietly too. Not cheap by any stretch but any other Honda option to get close would have been more.

If you hook a 2nd battery up in parallel you get more capacity. Comes in handy for things. Like we can run the TV for a while off an inverter on the batteries.

Plus it's way cool to say you have 2 batteries. hahaha.
