I added 2 additional 2x4 braces around the opening, just to be safe. I just ripped the 2x4 slid it in and screwed it together. I think the roof itself is strong enough the only concern I had was right around the opening.

I was on the jayco website and see that they are offering as an option 2nd A/C prep and 2nd A/C units in the eagle trailers with 50 amp service.

Also has anybody added a 2nd A/C to their current trailer in the bedroom as mentioned earlier if so how did you run the power wire ?

We are still shopping for a new trailer and there is a eagle 314 bds close by but was ordered with the 13.5 btu A/C . And according to some the earlier posts on this thread it will not be sufficient in the summer.

My current travel trailer has a non ducted 13.5btu A/C and the temps inside get up to around 82 deg when it is 95 or higher outside with no shade but cools down well at night . Do you think the 314bds with 13.5 btu A/C would be any worse ?? I live in South Georgia. Thanks

Personally i think you will be undersized with a 13.5 in a 314bds....just my opinon though..... I'm going to order my Eagle 29rdls next week with 15,000 up front in the main living area and a 13,500 for the BR .....of course that package comes with the 50 amp service which hope it has a detachable cord. The 50 amp cord would be a trick to push in that little hole when breaking camp....lol....Happy Camping !!!
