Walking into awning support

I know the simple answer is to keep your head up, but what have you done to prevent walking into your awning supports. Just this weekend getting the trailer ready, I struck the edge of the awning support twice. Hung some bungees and put a chair there after the second hit. What have other done. Thanks

We hang fresh fruits and vegetable's from them.. It keeps the kids from running into them at least.

Just kidding of course.. Our style of awing isn't the low type so we don't have that problem, but we place one of our outdoor tables along the supports. Plus it gives us a great place to clamp a light for cooking, etc. over the table.

Saw an article where someone was using the "noodles" made for swimming on their awning supports....haven't tried it but sounds like a good idea....adds good cushion and bright colors too.

From the low point of the mechanism we hang a small wind chime on one end and a small windsock on the other one. Since doing that I have never hit my head.

I'm over 6 feet and I often have an issue with the lower awnings. Our TT has the manual roll out awning and I un hook the lower angle brace from the side of the trailer and place it vertically on the ground. I connect my deflapers and use Bungy Cords to anchor the now vertical posts.

I had some leftover pipe insulation that I used on the X23B. Ties on with short pieces of nylon cord. Low tech but it works. Kept them when we sold it and haven't used them yet on the 351 RLTS.
They don't keep you from running into the arms but it hurts less.

Well, at 5'6" my noggin clears them UNLESS I have it rolled in a little. But it's a great question. The noodle idea sounds like a good fix.

I always place the coolers just below the front awning support, this way pople have to walk around the coolers and not into the awning support.
