That is a great article! Really points out the differences and why diesel lovers love them. Also, with a break even point of 105,000 miles, I'll take less up front cost and less cost at the pump. I don't pull every day, I don't pull at high altitude, and a 6.4 hemi 2500 will do all I ever need.

as someone that had towed with diesel and gas versions of the same truck, you have not towed till you have towed with a diesel, it is night and day difference and worth every penny

Couldn't agree more with this statement. I had a 2000 Excursion with the Triton V-10 and it towed pretty good. Traded that in on a 05 Excursion with a 6.0 Powerstroke and the difference was amazing. As Carey stated, night and day difference.

The break even point is 105,000 miles? It would take me 50 years to get there. I guess my decision to stick with my 454 gas hog was a good one.

Well I bought a 1995 f 350 with the 7.3 and even with the lower horsepower than the new ones it is still night and day pulling... yeah diesel is more but to me its well worth it.
