Niagara falls to Albany ny

Looking for recommendations for good rv roads between Niagara falls and Albany. It would be nice not to pay tolls, but maybe that’s the best route. Thanks Bill

Best and fastest route from Niagara Falls (slowly I turn step by step) to Albany is the NYS Thruway. Direct route, but tolls involved.... next best would be a combination of US Route 20 and State Route 5. Both will be stop & go through towns, cities, and villages, but will also have some open stretches.... I just suck it up and pay the toll whenever I make that run...

A longer, but toll free route would take you south out of the Buffalo / Niagara Falls (slowly I turn step by step) area to I-86 east, to I-81 north (for about 3 miles) to I-88 east into the Albany area.

You didn’t say how long you’d expect to be gone on this trip and there’s always the finger lakes region just south of I-90.

Did you take Moe, Larry and Curly with you when you visited the falls?

Northern Wis.: Your post doesn't specifically say whether you are planning to be on the US or Canadian side of falls. However, if you are planning to visit the Canadian side (the views are much better from that side), post, as I'm sure there are some folks here that can chime in with suggestions for camping and other attractions in the area, along with border crossing information. We have a number of Canadian members registered on this forum that I'm sure could be helpful.

I figured that only "old guys" (like me) would remember the reference. That skit actually started with Laurel & Hardy, but the Three Stooges certainly made it memorable!

As for my travel advice, my F/T job is as Operations Chief for NYS Office of Emergency Management..... I SHOULD know my way around the state....
