Southern NH to Niagara Falls

My family is attending a wedding in Little Falls, NY next July, and we decided to make the trip a camping vacation. At some point we'd like to go to Niagara Falls, and hit the wedding on the way home. Any suggestions for campgrounds near Niagara Falls (within an hour) and other worthwhile stops along the route (Route 90). We'd probably stay 3-4 days at several stops on the trip.

We have reviewed several places on-line but looking for any experiences anyone on this forum has had.

Thanks for your help!

Are you looking at campgrounds on the Canadian side or the American side of Niagara Falls?

I think at this time we'd stay on the US side, but we're early in the planning stages and could really go either way.

Darien Lake looks fun! Have you stayed at their campground? I would be a little concerned about sharing utilities (I can see a "Christmas Vacation" situation at the outlet!).

We stayed in a rental trailer a few years ago. If you have kids, they will love it. It wasn't busy when we went, so I even went on all the big rides.

What do mean "Sharing utilities"?

I've never camped on the US side, but if you change your mind and want to go into Canada, I have camped at the Jellystone Campground and we liked it there. I also think that the Canadian side of Niagara Falls has a lot more activities than the US side of the Falls.

Gibby: From the web site under "Book Now", I made a trial reservation and for all full utility sites (that I found), it states "We recommend you bring extra extension cords and hoses, as some utilities may be shared".

I do have 2 kids who would love the park...well so would my wife and I too!

KathyDiane: I visited the falls 20 years ago, and I remember liking the Canadian side better then as well. I think we'd need to get passports to visit now.

Yes, the view on the Canadian side is much better.

You will need a passport, and you must leave your guns in the US.

Stay at Four Mile Creek State Park. Great park, nice and clean and spacious. The parks on the Canadian side are busy and tight. Four Mile is about 20 minutes from the water falls. We camp there a couple times per year (we live in Niagara Falls, Canada). We really enjoy 4 mile, and the price is right too.
