Dinette cushion question

Hey guys. I'm cleaning my dinette cushions and covers. I noticed like thin drop cloth plastic is wrapping around the cushions inside the covers. Do they come like this or was this added by previous owner to try to cover smell? Thanks

It comes that way. It makes it quicker and easier for the workers to slip the fabric covers over the cushions. When I replaced my foam cushions I didn't bother with the plastic, and although it took a bit of effort I was able to get the covers over.

Ok. Cause I just washed mine in the bathtub with oxiclean. Through the plastic out. Had pink on it and the cushions from the humidity I guess. Was wondering if I should re wrap them with new plastic before putting back in covers

I washed three of the cushions yesterday left them in the Florida Sun all day and they were still wet. Had to bring them inside the AC under the fan overnight and then put them back out today in the Sun. Takes a while to dry them out. The covers tried nicely and smell good. The cushions definitely had a funky smell before. Washed everything in OxiClean with an hour or so soak and then rinse and rewashed with regular laundry detergent.
