Wow I’ve never seen soot marks like that. Is that from the bugs burning?

I hope I never had any trouble with the heater before. I blew it out after i got home and a bunch of soot came out and looked like some bug popcorn. Camper is now in storage now.

They've been plentiful around here earlier, it was a game who could catch the most over Columbus Day weekend.

That water heater soot caught my eye as well.

We got infested with them a few months ago. I think in a cg in Georgia. Still finding them dead and alive in different parts of the camper. They have slacked off now and I have had no problems with them causing any problems, just don't like bugs.
Last time we had our quarterly bug spraying at home, I had the pest control guy spray the camper.
It seemed to have some effect.

Those things were TERRIBLE this year in NY. They are UGLY! I heard that they're affecting the fruit crops, no natural predators so a non-aggressive Samurai Bee is being introduced. Their preference is to lay eggs on stink bug larvae which is bee food. As the population of stink bugs decline from this, so does the bee population. The bees are very tiny, and not aggressive to people. Hope this works.

We spray our whole RV externally with a product "Home Defense Max" and it works quite well. They are horrible here especially now that the soy beans are coming off the fields for the farmers apply them to eat the nymphs that eat soy plants.

I hope that it does work for your area. We had a similar project here in PA where they introduced ladybugs to combat an Aphid issue. Now, we are overwhelmed by ladybugs. There's no real harm with them, but nobody thought that their population would grow so much.

We'll see if this all works, or not. What the experts say will happen, and what REALLY happens can be two different things. I always thought ladybugs were cute....until one BIT me. Now, not so much!

Stink bugs - got an infestation in our camper last fall. They were like a freakin' BLIZZARD hitting our camper for a few days. Got some stink bug-specific insecticide at Lowes (also at Home Depot). The stuff works. But you gotta get it in the cracks and crevices. I sprayed the window frames, edges and corners, and even into the A/C vents. By spring we had gotten them all. FWIW, the stuff also works nicely on Box Elder bugs - at our home we get them from the silver maple in our front yard. I have to spray the front of the house. As soon as the weather gets cooler they start trying to get into the sun for warmth, and they seem to like our light-colored vinyl siding.

Frustrating, but the same spray nails both stink bugs and box elder bugs. I think it's by Harris? Anyway, it's easy to find at any good hardware or farm supply store.

We sucked 'em up with the vacuum cleaner. They sound like little rocks going up the hose.

My OCD is kicking in and just wanted to say that they are "Asian Beetles" and not "Lady Bugs". You are very correct in that they smell and when they bite it is painful. Be cautious for if you swat them they will stain cloths ect and it is difficult to get the yellow/orange stain out.

Sorry
