I live in a place where most forum members here won't go camping, north of the 49th parallel, aka the Canada/US border. While I've never camped outside of my home province, I have camped as far north at 55.

"Google" Shorty Cox Hollow, it will take you to a area in the hills of SE Oklahoma. Years ago, (I'm old so everything is years ago) I roamed those hills. Shorty Cox was an early settler in that area before statehood. That is where the name comes from.

I would never of guessed but it all makes sense now.

And those were the days.
