Can I stop auto response to "Thanks"

I always want to extend my gratitude to members who help, especially when the questions are mine. But, getting an auto-response, thanking me for expressing my appreciation (thanks) is a bit much. Any way I can turn this off?

I believe it's under User CP, then Settings & Options then Edit Options

Yes, that is correct. In the user control panel, click on edit options and scroll down. There you will find a click box in the "Thanks PM Notification" category.
