We have work kamped for 6 years now...99% of the people are nice and enjoyable...the other 1% at total A**es.. But it is fun to kick them out of the campground We only do it 6 months a year so it's bearable...but, by October everyone is ready for it to be over..

^^I'll definitely second this^^
Last trip out we had a great couple of hosts at the little state park we went to. They would walk the campground early evening and stop and chat with everyone that was out and sitting around their picnic table or campfire. The DW had some questions about some plants we had seen when out walking earlier in the day. When we showed the host the pictures he stopped by later in the evening to tell us he had looked it up in a book he had and told us what they were.

I am in my 8th year of full time RV'ing and have hosted 4-6 months of each year. I like it and as was previously posted, 99% of campers are great. The other 1% - No, I won't post that......

Seems that in the last year+ I have ran across that small % of CG Hosts that seem to see themselves as Jr rangers rather than helpful hosts. For sure we have experienced mostly very helpful and very friendly hosts in our travels. Recently at Ft Pickens on the Fla gulf coast where campers struggle with lack of space to accommodate rv and tw, the nearby hosts advised us of the strict enforcement of the ban on tv wheels touching non paved areas, he offered extra space at his site to park as he only had a motorcycle. Really nice guy. Recently at the Denali NP savage river CG, the host came onto our site in mid day with members of my family present and dropped to her knee to rub her hand into a basketball sized stain outside our motorhome. She then smelled her hand to see if we had dumped something there. The stain which I'm sure came from a previous camper's leaking tranny was there when we got there. The day later after I finished cooking burgers for 18 family members [we had 4 sites] she came on the site when after finishing the cooking I had entered the MH with the final plate of burgers leaving no one to watch the charcoal grill, Rule says any food items or food prep items must be stowed in a closed area or watched until that happens. The still burning grill was a violation of the rule but when I confronted her with the ?? about how to pack away a burning charcoal grill she offered no advice, just saying we had to watch it until it cooled. Bears are a real threat in Denali and we were on top of good behavior at our Campsite but I'm guessing that the savory smells from the grill while I cooked up several lbs of burger was more of a temptation for bears than the now empty grill for the 1 1/2 minutes it took me to deliver the burgers inside.
I could go on but my point is some people who take hosts jobs may not be up for the roles. The other 99% are great and we generally know them by first name after a stay at their CG.
