Last trip of the season
We hit the jackpot combination of unseasonably warm weather this weekend and peak colors at Bewabic State Park. It doesn't get any better than this!!

Gunner,
I hear ya, bro! I'm at Clear Lake State Park near Atlanta, MI (elk capital of Michigan). It's beautiful here, too! You just can't beat The Mitten in the fall . . . or the spring; or the summer. It's the winter I'm looking forward to getting away from.
Happy "dream camping" until next spring!

Kent,
I know we have spoken about Bewabic SP before both on and off-line, and can't agree more about the beauty of that area...., or for that fact anywhere in the Michigan UP

We were at Bewabic through last weekend. Went up to Ft Wilkins and then down through Indian Lake. 12 days trip and just got home. Weather was incredible for Sept in the UP. We didn't get rained on once! Colors are beautiful up there right now. Especially along 41. I have never been to Bewabic before this trip. That CG is beautiful.

Clear Lake is nice. We spend a lot of time up that way during the summer, but we usually stay at Ess Lake or Black Lake. We almost went there this week to do some elk viewing but decided to stay north of the bridge. I love to listen to them bugle this time of year. Have you been to any of the viewing locations and if so, any luck?

Hi Michigan folks!
We plan spending a month traveling around Lake Superior next July. What are your favorite CGs and places to visit? We were in Marquette 2 years ago and love the area.

We like easy hikes, birding, historical sites, power boating. Not into fishing or hunting.

For historical sites, my vote goes for Ft Wilkins State Park in Copper Harbor. But to get there you have to pass very near to Keweenaw National Historic Park. Both are worth seeing. Brockway Mountain in Copper Harbor is a must do also.
In the 'other cool stuff' department I recommend Kitch Iti-kipi near Indian Lake State Park by Manistique, Mi.
Fayette State historical Park is a good day side trip from there.
