Continued working on my bearing repack project. I've been pulling one hub at a time (TT is in storage) and bringing the assembly home. Thankfully I went this morning and looked inside the TT because I found and removed a live mouse that was stuck to a glue trap.

Emptied it out after a nice w/e camping trip. Discovered that the bottom of the cabinet above and to the right of the bed has come loose and is about to dump the contents. I suspect that the weight of my CPAP machine in conjunction with a few bumpier than usual spots this trip are the root cause. It's 1/8" and stapled from the bottom - guess I shouldn't be too surprised...

Just got "Jake" back from warranty work. Had a leak repaired in bunkroom slide and game chair & carpet replaced due to mold. Also replaced bathroom counter top due to leak from EZ Breeze (junk) vent that had leaked prior to our purchase. While there, dealer located 2 more leaks, 1 in front compartment door slam latch, and the other in outside kitchen door frame. Both doors and frames are on order.
While unit was gone, I fixed the "Jake" pad., and put stone in it to keep weeds and dirt to a minimum.

Ran it 5 miles down the road to the rest area and dumped the tanks from last week-ends trip. As usual long lines on Sunday coming home so I generally don't bother. Much easier to just run it out during the week when nobody is around.... Nice to see the gray tank indicators back to normal again. The Geo method does seem to work.....

I like the pad and am planning to do something similar. Can I ask what size rock you used? I was looking at 5/8" minus crushed gravel but also could use 1 1/4".

Hauled a bunch of stuff to my storage unit, and replaced it with a few necessities for when I hit the road again on Sunday or Monday. Got tired of the campground maintenance host position, so I'm quitting as of 7-31. It's been fun and challenging, but I miss the wide open spaces.

Well, camping and the Jayco are on hold for a month or so. We placed an offer on a house and it was accepted. So, we are schedule to close Aug 24th. Once the move is over, then we will get back out on the road camping... I will be installing a 50 amp RV service outlet on the side of the new house.

Used some self-tapping wood screws to repair the bottom of the cupboard above and to side of the bed. The staples started pulling out on the trip last weekend and the bottom was falling down on one side allowing the contents to start sliding out.

Added a set of JT Strong Arms to the landing gear. Haven't figured out how to mount the rear bars - we have the automatic leveling system and there's no clean way to add them.

Used some construction adhesive and a 16 ga. trim gun to attach and reattach trim that had come loose in a bunch of places, particularly on the bottom lip of the overhead cabinets, throughout the unit. Some had a couple of construction staples, but the original staple gum must have been set to fire too deep, and they were almost all the way through.... Some didn't have any staples, and must have been just held in place with friction! I figure that the adhesive and the trim pins will hold them better!

Join the club of Jayco owners who have a set of the rear JT Strong Arms still in the box, in the garage..... The GOOD news is that the front JT's, along with the 6-point system, seem to hold the units very tight!

Got it organized and hooked up and hit the road. I'm no longer a campground host, until maybe next year. I've driven 40 miles (I-5 through Tacoma and Olympia) and stopped at the first rest stop. That stretch of highway stresses me out quite a bit because of the multiple lanes and everyone going 70 in the 60 mph zone. Going to pull it to the Walmart in Chehalis and spend the night there. I just thought of a few things I needed to buy...

The DW has a knack for recycling otherwise useless items - in this case a pair of the twist & fold windshield covers from a car we no longer have. Now we have some custom-made sun screens for the side windows on our 195RB. After our last trip to the south west we decided having something like this was a good idea, especially for the longer travel days. These attach with little velcro patches and I can already tell that the trailer a noticeably cooler today having them in place.
