This was a 3 weeks ago, but was checking everything in prep for a 2 week vacation from PA to Outer Banks and tested the generator and of course it wouldn't start. I neglected to start it enough over the winter and the fuel left in the generator carb must have gunked things up. Changed the oil in it (as it needed it anyway), the spark plug as it was looking a bit funky and then found a video on running concentrated seafoam gas through it. Bought some extra fuel line and ran it directly to the 1 gallon container, primed for 30-60 seconds, let it sit for a few minutes, then started it and it managed to start. I let it run for 30 minutes then turned off for 30 minutes and reran for 30 minutes. Runs like a champ now.
The Onan generators have a design flaw of no fuel shutoff so you can't run it dry before storage. You will need to run it periodically or run the risk of screwing up your carb due to the ethanol gas. I lucked out. I'll most likely be added a fuel shutoff to the fuel line to help in future winterization.

X2. I use only non-ethanol gas in my 33-y-o Honda outboard with an ounce or two of Seafoam when I fill the tank. Starts no problem even after sitting for a while. Worth the $7/gallon price!

On the Seneca Indian reservation here in WNY the cost per gallon is $4.09!

vent knob extender
Made this dohicky for my vertically challenged bride so she can open and close the vent in the bathroom. Still needs a coat of finish and a strap to hang it up.

Seriously, beautiful work!

Found the limits of my AC. 110 degrees here in Texas. Trailer was heat soaked. Zero shade and clear skies. Turned on one AC and left for four hours. Came back and temp had come down to 98 in the trailer. Thermostat maxes out at 99 sure it was at least 110 in there when I turned it on as it felt cooler when I stepped outside.
Fortunately I’m just prepping for departure tomorrow. I just wanted to see if one AC could even work with those conditions. It cannot so I shut it off.

Our camper is in Rockport Tx. We have a Wi-Fi thermostat for the main AC so I can see the temp inside when we’re not there. Lately it’s been about 106-107 inside in the afternoon. When I know we’re heading down there I turn it on at 6 am in the morning and at 6 or 7 pm it’s about 80 with the main ac. The front bedroom ac and a fan helps it cool down pretty quick.

I finally broke down and had a 3rd A/C installed. We don't typically go camping in the summer months because of the heat but we've had several instances in the spring and fall where the temps got into the mid to upper 80's and the 2 A/C's struggled to keep the inside temps below 78 degrees. I will be adding soft start capacitors to all 3 units in the near future.

turned the fan on..Amazing how mildew forms when it rains for two months. No need for the A/C but we might as it still is humid.
We do have shore power.

I found sharp edges that were causing one string to fray and break.
