Just got home from 4 days at Lake Havasu State Park, so today we are unpacking. Had a wonderful spot 100 yards from the water.

This was our 16th trip for 2023, and our last for the year. Put on 3750 miles this year, looking forward to 2024!

Absolutely nothing! I lied, I hooked up a battery minder to my four 6 volt AGM batteries, installed a step rail, dusted the blinds, and started prepping for Daytona 500 2024.

Okay, on your way to the Daytona 500, swing through Cheyenne and grab me.

Decided to refresh my onboard network now that the 5G (x62 chipset) modems are available with the Peplink devices. As I said in post #4 of this thread, stable and reliable internet is imperative in order to be allowed to travel and work. I believe this setup to be more than the typical user needs, but it’s the best possible chance for me to have what I need while on the road.

Peplink Max BR2/BR1 5G Routers:
The Peplink Max BR2 5G is an enterprise class dual modem router built specifically for vehicle deployments. This router has dual 5G (x62) modems utilizing Verizon and T-Mobile SIM cards. Additionally, I have a Peplink Max BR1 5G single modem router utilizing an AT&T SIM card, connected to the BR2 (WAN 1) in Synergy Mode allowing the BR2 to control the BR1. This allows for all connections to show in the dashboard of the BR2 and for all connections to seamlessly integrate. At any given time, all three major carrier are connected and bonded over a SpeedFusion connection for redundant connectivity.

Starlink Satellite Internet:
Additionally, I have added a Starlink dish for when I’m stationary that is feeding the BR2 on the secondary WAN port. I have deleted the Starlink router since it takes up a lot of room, creates quite a bit of heat, and is not used for WiFi anyway since its feeding the BR2 by adding a Starlink to Ethernet adapter, a POE injector, and a 12v to 48V DC power supply. This is only deployed when stationary for extended periods of time.

Antenna Updates
The Parsec Great Pyrenees 11-in-1 Antenna is a great match for the Peplink Max BR2 5G which has 8X8 MIMO 5G, 2X2 MIMO Wi-Fi & GPS connections. I decided to mount mine on a 12x12 electrical box to the center of the roof between the ACs. The existing Poynting 7-in-1 Antenna mounted on the fridge vent remains in place to marry to the Peplink MAX BR1 5G. Combined with a Poynting XPOL-24 mounted on the 25’ telescoping pole on the bumper, there’s a total of 22 antenna connections coming into the electronics cabinet. This antenna is also used when stationary in the event we need more height or a directional antenna to get to a distant tower and can be attached to any one of the three 5G modems in the BR1/2 routers. Also on this tower is a Ubiquiti Bullet used to pull in long distance WiFi if available.

I suggest doing your research/purchases from these sites as they cater to RV connectivity and their customer service is second to none.

Replaced the Coleman-Mach Multi-zone thermostat with the Micro-air Bluetooth
thermostat.

Now don’t have to go into the bathroom to set thermostat…just use my phone…yay!

And it allows to set a schedule and set high and low temps so either A/C or heater comes on when/if needed. So much better

Opened the awning to let it dry out, since the sun is shining! We have to do this every time it rains, to avoid mold.

We have one and love it. It is the perfect for the way we use our camper.

Today was a pretty big milestone for us. I paid off the loan for my Jayco. It took forever, but we actually paid it off 5 years ahead of the actual maturity date. Our tow vehicle will be paid off next, in about 3 months. I have no regrets financing the camper, had some great memories with my daughter while she was still living with us, things that never would have happened otherwise.

The only thing I've managed to break since I bought it back in late 2016 is the kitchen faucet when I failed to winterize early enough (this year). A few other minor things, but overall I have been very happy with the entire experience. Trying to decide now if I should sell it while it still has decent value, ride it till the wheels fall off, or downsize to something a little more tow friendly and easier to manage overall.

Added a pair of scissor stabilizers mid point under our camper. At 37’ 11” in length our TT is long enough where it needs more than the 4 stabilizers that came on it from the factory. In the past I’ve used a DIY stabilizer using 2 steel bars and a ratchet strap. That worked ok but it was just another handful of items I had to carry.

House Battery Upgrade

Well, finally got around to replacing my 6V AGM Pair for the Battle Born
GC3 270AH LiFePO4. Well, took me over 5 hours thanks to Entegra
for putting the house battery compartment in the middle of the basement
compartment. I made a few not good choices with this upgrage.
1) I should have gotten the 8D form factor instead of the GC3 as would have been way easier to get the cables connected. The GC3 terminal posts are
not optimal to get to given this small compartment… liked to have killed me
trying to get the one cable bent enough to connect, then trying to get the nut
on the bolt was almost impossible…..whew.
Also, the 4/0 AWG cable i get made, I got too short, so will not bend enough so
I can seat the GC3 in the battery tray. Instead of a foot I should have gotten either 18” or 24”.
Also the Victon battery shunt bolts were larger than the current negative cable terminals ends, so had to file the hole a little larger…

Now have to make a small shelf for the battery to sit on and run some straps to keep it from bouncing/moving.

I’ll keep the two 6V AGMs for a bit while we burn the new GC3 in. So far the Magnum Inverter/Charger is working with it - Battle Born sent me the settings for the CC/CV type. Hopefully all will remain ok with it.

Now have to get rid of the tow 6V AGM batteries that are only a year old, and we really only used them while traveling to next destination. They never went bellow 80% charge according to the Magnum monitor. Should be worth something?

Installed a shutoff valve on the freshwater overflow hose. Had an issue with the freshwater tank siphoning water through the hose when traveling. The freshwater tank holds 25 gallons. Losing 3 to 5 gallons really wasn’t a very good thing.

Started loading for next trip. Still winterized, will let the weather tell us when to flush the lines as we head South.
