Installed a hitch on the back bumper to hold a "Gear rack". First off I know the bumper won't hold anything. But the one on the Sport, which I have is rated for 100lbs to allow for the spare tire. It doesn't weigh 100lbs. I have no intention of tow with it set up but the receiver will stay attached. I decided to use a bolt on style cause I was worried about welding next to wood and other flammable stuff. I tipped the receiver upside down to allow for the very low ground clearance inherent to this model. I also had to place an aluminum plate inside the hitch as my bumper is to narrow. I used some scrap I had laying around and we shall see if it works or if I will have to get another plate and cut it to fit. I used aluminum to avoid the rust. I will have to keep an eye on this. I originally put it in the center but the bumper is just too flimsy to support the rack with gear on it. So I mounted it on the side next to the support and it's pretty solid right there, even with about 50lbs of gear hanging on it. The rack is a truck bed extender I got cheap from Harbor Freight. The receiver weighs about twice what the extender does. I had to move and cut about 8 inches off of my sewer hose tube. Hose still fit. I also see the receiver holding a grill or table etc.
