Same.
I've always used the blue Camco charcoal filters. I had a white hose for a long time, but came up short once, so I "splurged" and picked up a 50' blue drinking water hose. Never had problems with either of them. Our MH has an additional on-board filter too.
The water in the pipes INSIDE the unit is another story entirely. I've often had a "plastic" taste in my water if I leave it in there for pretty much any length of time. That's one of the main reasons I drain as much water out of my camper as I can before I store it ... EVERY TIME, not just in the winter. If it sits in the onboard tanks or pipes, the smell and taste get real bad real fast in my experience.
Two pointers:
1) Sanitize your entire water system at least once a season using a bleach solution.
2) Carry separate water specifically for drinking. We have 2 5-gal water cooler jugs that we can fill for $1.25 (sometimes less, sometimes more) at vending stations commonly available at grocery stores. Our favorite is "Glacier" because it has been the most consistent. That water is usually municipal water that has been heavily filtered using Reverse Osmosis on the last step before it goes in your bottle, so it has no discernible taste.
ETA: We will typically only use our on-board or city water for things OTHER than drinking or cooking. And we have a manual "Dolphin" pump to get the water out of the jugs that works beautifully.
