Need to drop some weight

Hello all. I am new to RV so I am looking for some guidance. I have the opportunity to purchase a Feather Ultralight but it has equipment that I don’t want or need and I don’t want to haul around extra stuff for no reason. I DO NOT care about resale value as I intend to use this for a long time. I want to remove the water heater and all associated equipment, shower, built in couch, built in chairs, table, oven/stovetop, range hood, cupboard doors (replace with cargo net), shelving (replace with metal grid). What else can I remove to lighten to load? I want to keep the heat/ac unit so I assume I have to keep the propane tanks.

Welcome to the forum.

Sounds like it will be mostly gutted. The fridge probably weighs 500 lbs or so depending on what model. Guess you could remove the wood base for the bed and install a metal bed frame that is fastened to the floor. From that point it’s basically how you stock it.

I'm thinking maybe it would be easier to buy a cargo trailer and modify it to your needs?

X2, easy to add a few windows, roof vents, ac, insulation, paneling and door locks.

x3, By the time you remove cupboards, seating etc., you may affect the structural itegrity of the trailer.

I would try it out a while before striping it. Lithium vs. lead batteries is a weight save. Another spot is the table. Mine is ridiculously heavy chipboard and one of my spring projects is to replace it with a plywood one of the same dimensions. Others have done that and looked good.
