Solar question

Since I was not able to find any of the solar pre wires in my jay feather 25RB I decided to run my own wires.
My question is can I “T” off the battery wires that go into my converter distribution box and connect the the positive and negative to the solar charge controller? I would assume that these 2 wires run straight to the battery coming out of the converter box to charge the battery when hooked up to shore power?
Any thoughts?
