Working with PEX?

I have two projects that I have been putting off for quite sometime as I am leery
of working with PEX in the cramped wet bay access.
One is adding flexible tubing to the water pump as a “homemade” noise reduction
kit and the other is repairing/replacing the leaking Fresh Water fill valve.

Both are very difficult to get to the way Entegra made the wet bay.

I see the videos on how to remove the crimp clamps, not an easy task if you can’t really get to the part by the way, but haven’t seen anyone speak to if you can reuse the same section of PEX that you just removed a fitting from…or should
you trim it or replace the section with new before installing the new fitting?

I was also thinking of using a little, very little, bit of Flex Seal to the fitting barb before putting the PEX component in the PEX pipe just for extra “leak” insurance.
What say the experts?

Are you looking at crimp rings for normal household use or the lighter weight RV style crimp rings?

I had to replace a leaky low point drain. I used a side cutter to clip the band at the crimp point. Very easy.

I bought a crimping tool from HD in the irrigation parts area. Price was cheap, and the tool is very small, size of a decent size pliers. https://www.amazon.com/Pliers-Single...=sr_1_4?sr=8-4. FYI there are two different crimp ring sizes, one for PEX and one for irrigation piping.

If you are using the big crimp tool that is rated higher water pressure, it will be very difficult to get in and use.

I rerouted and replaced most of the pex in my Heartland Bighorn a few years ago. I used the slip-on connectors on all joints and never had any leaks. I had to shorten some pipes and extend one, even the hot water line. The press-on fittings cost a little more but are easier to use, especially in tight spaces. This is just my experience and opinion.

Copy, I have the EVOPEX water valve push on for the small run that goes to the filter that filters the Fresh Water tank line, that’s on the outside of the Wet bay, no problem. But the Water pump connections I am changing to flex tube, so have to use the crimp clamps and PEX male mate connector.
I bought a length of pipe and some 90 deg angle connector for PEX will see how it goes.

In our Seneca, I haven't had to get to my water pump and am not looking forward to it. Just think how happy you will be when you get it finished!

Look into push connect fittings. They work extremely well if instructions are followed. As small as 1/4 inch which is many an RV tube line.

Way back, I bought a kit with flexible hoses on it to attempt to dampen the noise of my pump. I wanted to be prepared. When I finally got to it, it already had flex pipes connected to the pump!
