This past weekend we pulled the TT to Texas Motor Speedway and the truck did awesome! Averaged 11.6 mpg on the way there and 10.3 mpg on the way home. Strong head wind on the way home so that was the reason for the lower milage. I was expecting 8 to 10 to be honest so thrilled with those numbers!

Overall I'm still thrilled with the Ram! Even found 87 octane for 2.53 a gallon. I made it from just north of San Antonio to the track on a single tank...my 2011 Ram 1500 last time making the same trip, with a TT weighing 1,000 pounds lighter took 2 tanks of gas (same tank size in each truck).

Great pulling power, great stability too. Set cuise on 63 and off she went...chugging along. Had several folks ask about the thruck at the CC too, felt like a salesman talking about it...lol!

Great purchase and really made towing enjoyable.
Oh, I can't wait to get mine!!

I've had my 6.4 since February, and still loving it. Only complaint so far is an LED puking in the overhead console.

I'm averaging 15.9 mpg on the last 10 fill-ups, and my running average is in my fuelly tag in the sig.

I've been over some nasty passes towing, and got as low as 7.2 mpg. I'm usually 10-11 mpg towing.

A little mis-information here. The 3500 megacab is not down-graded, just down-rated for noise/DOT purposes. If you'll notice, the RPM is lower than on the other ratings. The actual output is identical.

NewBlackDak...you are getting better milage than I am. My overall average not towing is low 14s and towing I'm averaging about 10. I've got as much as 12+ towing and as low at 8. I did pull close to 18mpg on a recent trip though (not towing) and was very happy with that!

I have 3.73 running gear whereas you have 4.10s...I'd think I would be getting a little better milage than you but I do not baby my truck at all...drive it pretty hard.

I too love this truck and so glad I upgraded!

I don't baby it either, but I do drive the speed limit. I do the actual math, and getting somewhere 2-5 minutes earlier in exchange for 2 mpg is not worth it at all.

A full tank of in town mileage is a solid 12 no matter how I drive it.

I really think the 4.10s help more than hurt on a 7200lb truck. Though, With the exception of a single tank at 17.4 mpg(entire drive cruise set at 60), I haven't seen anything near 18.

4.10s do help around town for sure...but the 3.73s helped on my long trip. I normally set the cruise to the speed limit and that is pretty much 75 anywhere here in south Texas.

I too hand calculate my MPGs but the info center has been pretty close on trips and such when I reset it.

Cannot wait to get a deal worked out. Not willing to settle, and not willing to pay more for a truck than my mom paid for my childhood home.

Haha...I've said that about every car/truck I've bought...won't pay more than I paid for my first house! That house was $48,000 and to this day, I've not paid more for a car or truck!

This one worried me but I paid less...even after TTL! Not sure that will hold true with the next one...

I would be severely limited with trucks if I did that. She only paid $32K for it.

Ok, been thinking of going to 6.4 gas. I watched a pulling video on YouTube and the 6.4 never got out of second gear on this test climb.

I don't believe this is actually a good test though as they started on the steep grade instead of having a head of steam up.
What are the real world expeditions if a head of steam was already up before start of climb. Will the dodge hold a higher speed vs trying to gain speed from a stand still.

Oh...my first house was $16,100... VA loan $1 down...$143 monthly total....
