Well I joined the club and added LED awning lights to my 2013 X17z. I'm not very electrically inclined, and the instructions for this particular product were simply: It's easy! Drilled a hole behind my awning pole, ran the wires through and then used an unobtrusive conduit to run it down to an AC converter and 110 plug. Secured the converter and cord just under the lip of the counter, and ran it around to the plug. Wired in a little switch which also allows me to dim them. Filled the hole on both sides and they seem to work great! Pretty happy with my results!
Thanks! I couldn't get them to work when I tried to wire them directly. As I said, I'm not very handy electrically. It was later I found that I'd blown my 30 amp master fuse and that may be why I couldn't get them to operate. But they didn't work when I plugged the trailer in either. It was fast and easy to do it this way and the Mrs. likes the plug, so I'm not gonna argue!
I ran a new 6 circuit fuse panel to power my stereo, awning lights, USB charging outlets, stair LED strip and one unused spot for now. Real nice work you did, DC should of worked, if the lights need about 12volts

Aepowell, can you please share with me how you wired your lights to the outside light. I'd like to do the same but I want it to look neat. Just not sure how to get it done. Thanks

I moved the connecting wires from the end of the string to right above my light. there is only about an inch of exposed wire that I covered with tape. I'll try to get you a picture tomorrow. I had to drill a small hole in the top of the light fixture to insert the wires. I then removed the blub from the light. I got this from someone on another forum. I just use the old switch to control the lights.
Also wired them into the outside light. This is the third year and it looks like last winter took a toll on these lights as only about half of them light up. I just have the cheap Chinese ones, so be warned anyone with the same.
Not a big deal as they cost about $10 a 5m roll, but a bit of a hassle redoing them every 2-3 years.
