Propane Tank Removal

Hi there, I am new to trailer ownership but very excited. I just bought a used 2011 Jayco Jay Feather Sport hybrid and I can’t get the propane tank off. Can someone help?

Welcome to the Forum from Western New York State!

There may be a bolt or two visible from underneath, that are holding it in by the bottom ring of the tank. A picture of the tank, without the cover on it would confirm the style of tank fixture.

Thanks, finally got it removed. It was a very tight area to get at those bolts.

I fought the two bolts holding the single 30lb tank for years. I just upgraded to two 20 lb tanks. Easy to remove and never run out of propane. Well worth the cost and time upgrading.

I used safety pins like you use on the tongue instead of those cheapo bolts that were almost impossible to get off.
Then last year I installed a 2 bottle mount when I got a fire ring and needed a second 20 Lb. bottle. Lot easier than the single bottle and not hard to do. Installed with 2 big U bolts to hold the bottom of the bottle bracket in place. Will work find for a single bottle.

Of all the trailers we have owned the two cheap nuts and bolts is the worst design.
