Unhappy Awning ripped/cut

I just purchased a brand new (2018 Jay Feather 7 19BH) and I tore the awning in 5 different places on my first time taking it out on the side of my garage. Each tear is about 1-2 inches long except one that is 3-4 inches. Does anyone know what to use to repair this other than the cheap tape stuff at hardware stores? Preferably something that will hold for years and blends in? The dealer is charging me way too much than I can afford right now. Your advice is very much appreciated.

Check with your insurer and see if they will cover it.

Thanks, but insurance doesn't cover it.

Congratulations on the new Jay Feather and welcome to the forum, but unfortunately, I can't help with an awning patch.

If it were mine I would take it off with a friends help and take it to a sail maker and have him mend it. Living in Vancouver you should have a few good ones to pick from.

as already mentioned, rv awning repair tape. It is clear. I used it on my previous rv on the main awning and on one of the slide out covers and it was still holding after 5yrs when I traded it. May help you until you can replace or get professionally repaired.

Try a boat top canvas shop, they use lots of sunbrella and should be able to patch it, cheaper than buying a new one for now.
