Water pump question

I have a 2012 33rlts Eagle and the water pump takes a long time to prime after not using for extended periods. It will pick up water but takes a minute or so to “reprime”. During a short stay without connections it seems to hold the prime. I’m thinking it may be a check valve issue in the pump. No leaks anywhere thankfully. We normally have city water connections but a potty stop for the war department brings up the issue again! Any thoughts?

You can replace the check valve itself but it may be time for a new pump. 8 years of limited use tends to dry things out internally. It's a fairly easy DIY if the pump is easily accessible.

Thanks TC. I’ll get the pump out and have a look. They seem easy to rebuild.
