As with all things, it depends....but I'll start off offering some standard
advice....
How long do you plan to store the RV?
Short Period - couple of days/weeks - leave plugged in so battery can
float charge, fridge can stay cool, but if only 15 AMP service, make sure
you only leave on what is necessary and does not overload the 15 Amp service.
Long Period - do the Battery disconnect, open fridge and let air out, make sure nothing is still powered, open the vent a little so the RV can "Breath" and
put rodent protection around the RV. Place an open box of baking soda
in the RV to help with stagnant moisture smells, etc.
Drain the water tanks - winterize if storing during winter (your RV manual will tell you how to do this or see numerous YouTube videos on the subject).
Sanitize your water lines if storing during summer/hot times, again see YouTube videos or your owners manual).
Stabilizer jacks down/up is up to you, but should not be needed if parked for storage and the RV is properly "chocked" - UNLESS you intend to leave the
Fridge on, and the Fridge is not a residential fridge, thus the RV will need to be level and stabilized as best practice.
"One other thing, While I am driving, with the main power switch on, will my refrigerator keep running?"
Yes, Fridge should stay running while driving, but will be running off the house battery/inverter, so will remain powered while the battery still has sufficient charge.... get to know your electrical system very well, actually, get to know all the RV systems as best you can...will pay off in the future with any issues you may come across and self troubleshooting/fixing.
With the fuel/engine, as with any engine, it should be operated on occasion if possible, and the fuel can sit for a period of time, but if long term storage,
best to run the engine/generator at least once a month to keep the "system"
operational.... but there will be other experts on engines that will chime in for this answer...I am no expert for sure, just a common RV'r that has
extensive military diesel generator maintenance experience.
