dingy lights

Being a new Melbourne 24k owner and towing a 2014Hhonda CR V, I noticed that the wiring harness does not light the license plate. Isn't this required by most states? I am not planning on driving at night, but you never know.
thanks

Likely not required since the vehicle is in tow.

I understand your concern, but do think it would generate a ticket. An officer may give you a warning and if that happens it could be resolved by a small LED magnetic light or a separate license plate light hooked to the towing wiring.

Don't think this is a major issue, but there are ways to resolve if it keeps you awake at nights.

Former Deputy here.
If he is going to pull you over for that he has something else in mind bigger.
Pulling someone over for no license plate light is the most petty reason in the world...........sure way to get in trouble with the Chief or Sheriff in the morning.
The only time we ever did it was when we had a known meth cooker if their light was out..........good op. to sniff for anhydrous.
You have nothing to worry about

On a related note, I'm wondering if there is a way to get the 3rd brake light on the toad to work.

Have you viewed your setup from a typical distance at night possible even with all the coach brake lights activated?
