New Owner 2008 Seneca 36FS

Hey,

Just signed on an 08 Seneca & God willing we will be taking her home next week.

It was tough finding a rig that checked off both mine & my wife’s wants but we found it.

Stoked to get her home and start the remodel.

Any tips and tricks for us? First time RV’rs. Thanks!

Those Senecas are great units. Check all the fluids , tire pressure and enjoy.

Great rig, put over 55,000 on ours is 6 years, the DURAMAX is a great engine.

Only common issue that popped up is the radiator. Driver's side lower corner is where a leak would occur. GM had a batch with bad crimps. Also watch the trany dip stick, keep the level slightly below full otherwise it blows out the overflow. Akso check the transfer switch, if it's an IOTA there was a recall on certain rigs. Call JAYCO with your vin# (for the coach, not the chassis) and ask. Since you're the 2nd owner they probably won't cover it, but I would replace it.

Forgot to add, get it weighed after you have it loaded and use the tire inflation chart for the pressures. It will make for much better handling and a better ride. We ran our fronts at 85 and rears at 90

That's interesting. I had the same leak on the dr side intermittent for two years. It would on leak a cup or two when parked on an angle. No leak when the unit was on level ground. Finally I put a new rad in last summer.

Congratulations!!! My wife and I have had our '08 35GS for four years and love it. One "must do", if it hasn't already been done, is the headlight upgrade. The stock lights are horrible. I went big and upgraded ours to JW Speaker LEDs. You'll get plenty of help and advice on this web page, so I'll keep the extent of my 2 cents to that!! Happy Trails...
