Most of the time insurance is cheaper on the 2wd. If all I was using it for was to tow a camper, and you take out the extra trade in value, a 2wd works just fine. I would try to get one with some kind of diff lock just in case you get on wet grass.

Having 4WD is called 'piece of mind'.

When you need it you have it...and I have had to use it a few times when no one else was around.

You would probably be just fine. I Montana where I live you would never leave home without your 4X4.

I like my 4WD. I rarely "need" it but it has saved me from using my road service/towing insurance several times. Even so, I often use it. I just used it today to drive my truck up on a stack of blocks to change the oil. Can't do that so easy with 2WD. I used it last month to back the trailer up on some ramps to lift it 6" above the ground. Couldn't have done that either without a running start.

4WD came in real handy pushing my 5er the other day. The trailer made 8" deep ruts as I backed into a sandy Florida campsite. The truck never spun a wheel.
