GENERATOR EVAP vs EFI

I'm under the impression we all need (us 5th wheelers) an EVAP generator to meet regulations. Are EFI generators only meant for Class A RV's, RV's with a motor. I have read in forums that people with 5th wheels are infact getting EFI generators - how will they meet regulation standards on gasoline fumes without an EVAP generator?

Not just Calif. All vehicle gas tanks, MH included, collect the vapors so MHs can use the EFI geny. Fifthwheel genys have a vapor recovery in their onboard fuel tanks so the geny is supposed to work with the vapor recovery system. Thus the EVAP geny.

Of course this is not applicable to the FWs that are now using LP genys. They are most likely EFI.

Is this the reason Jayco switched from gasoline generators to propane in their 5ers?

Might be, but it also makes refueling easier. Putting gas in the tank under the gooseneck is a PITA.

My on order 2017 Eagle 293RKDS is getting gen prep option. Which is LP and I'm glad. I'm tired of gasoline tanks and fuel cans and gasoline ordors. Not to mention carb issues. LP is so much easier to deal with. The gasoline today is worthless and has no shelf life. LP has an indefinite shelf life. I'd never want a gasoline genset. Only diesel, natural and LP gensets in my ownership. I never cared for gasoline powered anything.

As far as EVAP, if the EFI doesn't have it. I wouldn't care and install it. EFI is the way to go if you have to have gasoline.

No, LP rv gensets are vapor. They will have an LP carb. They are not EFI.

Well guess I'm gonna find out the hard way. My 2016 377 has gen prep for gas unit and ordering 7kw EVAP unit next week.

I use this battery operated pump to fuel my gas tank. Piece of cake.

I read ur post last year and bought the same thing. Works like a champ. Up at camp we use Jenny a lot so I use just regular gas but towards the end of stay start filling with ethanol free. Now full timing but start and run Jenny under load for at least an hour monthly. Same with my lawn equipment and all run fine. I even add a little starbrite ethanol treatment.
