Jayco Eagle 29.5 FBDS exterior lights

When I turn on my awning light the lights on the front of my trailer also come on. Is this the same for everyone else or is my wiring screwed up? Also the reason I ask this is because initially my exterior lights came on when I turned my interior lights on. Our service manager is useless and doesn’t call back. Thanks for any info.

I have 29.5 FBDS my front lights do not come on with the awning. When I turn on the awning I just get the awning light. IMHO you definitely have a wiring problem.

I talked to the dealer again and he said that he was going to contact jayco about it. My neighbors have to hate when I turn my lights on. I know I would. Thanks for the reply.

Good luck on the wiring problem. RV's, in general, have the worst wiring. I have been involved with residential and industrial electrical wiring for 40 years. There is evidently no codes or governing body that inspects RV wiring. It is really sloppy, poorly run, and would not pass any inspection for any kind of residential or industrial wiring installations. When I took my new camper home the first thing I did was wiring inspection and felt the need to rewire some of it and clean up the sloppy mess they put in the field. They never furnish a wiring schematic and I would guess they do not have one at the factory. They just wire it up as they go and hope it works.

If you are talking about the accent lights in the nose cap they will come on with the awning lights not a problem, if you have a step light it will also come on with awning lights. you don't have a problem.

On our 28.5 Eagle, our front cap lights, step light and awning light are all on separate switches.

On our HT30.5 our awning lights, 2 sets of cap lights (amber & white) and step light (blue) all come on with seperate switches. Awning lights switch from inside, step light switch by the door and 2 switches for each color of the cap lights at the cap.

Mine all have separate switches. Awning and step lights come on together. Front cap lights each have a switch on the front cap.
