Schwintek slide

My buddy bought a 2017 30.5mbok from a dealer 6 hrs from where we live. Everything worked fine when he brought the RV home but yesterday he tried to bring the kitchen/couch slide in and it left a a gap about 1/2 inch from closing all the way. When you bring the slide out in it goes so slow and you can tell it is laboring way more than it should.(I have same slide with no problems) I followed a video to re-sync the slide but it did not help the problem. It appears the slide is going in and out square but it does make a lot of popping and squealing noise on one side. Just wondering if anyone has had the same issues with schwintek slide and how to fix the problem.
Thanks for any help

This is one of many issues we had with our 2018 30.5MBOK. Wish this was the only issue but we left kitchen side in a couple of times during one night stays as we were concerned it would not come back in when we put it out.

I'm sure you've already checked, but I'll state the obvious. Be absolutely sure there are no obstructions inside or underneath.

Yes I did check underneath and on both sides for obstructions and also checked all rollers to make sure they weren’t missing or damaged. The 4 aluminum rails that the motor gears run on look good on 1 side but the opposite side you can see where it has chattered into the aluminum. It’s almost like it’s one tooth out of sync.
Thanks for the help

The motors aren't synced. Read the Schwintek owners manual on how to sync your motors.

I noted in my original post I went through the directions on syncing the motors. I did it 4 times and it didn’t make a difference

It has 1/2" gap when retracted (outside) and on the opposite side when extended (inside)?

Will it close the gap if you hold the switch after completing the move?

You didn't mention if the trailer was plugged into shore power or plugged into the tow vehicle with the engine running. IIRC, at least one person on this site has said that low battery voltage caused their slide issues.

The 1/2” gap is on the outside(both sides)and only when it is completely retracted. The slide goes out easy and when fully out it fits tight to the wall on the inside from top to bottom. It does not help if you hold the button after the slide is all the way in. It does help if 2 people push on the slide when you bring it in and doesn’t leave a gap. When the slide is being retracted it makes a loud thumping and grinding noise only on one side.

We first noticed it while it was plugged into shore power and had been plugged in for 5-6 days so both batteries were fully charged. I checked both battery connections to make sure they were tight and they were.
Thanks

The issue I had with mine was that it would move in/out crooked but at the end of the move it would be fully closed/open. It was fixed with the syncing.

It sound like there is a restriction when almost closed that the motor can't overcome but pushing can.

Try unplugging the controller from power, let it sit for 30 seconds plug back in.. Did that with mine and it had been perfect since

Unplug which controller ? You mean pull the fuse for the Schwintek slide ?

I went to the controller for the slide and actually just unplugged the power from it. Did not try pulling the fuse. Mine was under the kitchen counter by the water pump. (306RKDS)

Your 7 pin connector plugged into the tow vehicle isn't always set up to charge the trailer house battery even though the engine is running. I think to try to get the motors synched, plug the trailer into power. Not the tow vehicle.

Reviewing the video shows a manual mode. If syncing doesn't work I would try manual.

Yeah we’ve tried about everything and it is under warranty. Using it this weekend and was hoping for an easy fix because the closest dealer is 2-3 weeks out for appointments. Just hope it works long enough to get it back in on Monday.
Thanks for all the help
