What hitch to buy

I'm pretty sure we are gonna buy our first fifth wheel next weekend. We are settled on the 379dbfs Jayco North Point. It's 43 ft and gross weight is 14,200 lbs. Looking for recommendations on what hitch I need. I have a gooseneck ball in my truck now. So I was wondering if the conversion for that would be best or a 5th wheel hitch. And what capacity I would need. Any information would help. Thanks.

You didnt mention the tow vechile, but given the 5th I would hope your towing with a 1 Ton.

If you just want to use your goose and not add rails go with an Anderson otherwise a B&W is the way to go if you don't need a slider. If you need a slider go with a PullRite.

I have a B&W and love it, towing with the factory prep in a 3500 Silverado, easy 2 piece system to make it light weight to take in and out.

I know there are a ton of Anderson fans, I just haven't been swayed to go that route myself.

Stay with the B&W....not a better built hitch out there.

B&W slider here. Had to use the slider first time out. Highly recommend.

Bit of a thread hijack, but in a similar position as the OP. Did some asking around - my brother has the BW Companion and swears by it. What does the truck need already installed (if anything) to make the companion work?

Also, do you guys just have the BW model that conforms to the weight you're pulling or are there other concerns when deciding on which BW?

I was originally thinking slider, just cuz i know I'll eventually have some eff up somewhere and possibly need it - how hard is the slider to remove vs the non-slider? Looks to be damn heavy. Maybe none of them are easy to remove compared to the Anderson or something.

Check the warranty implications before using the goose neck adapter. A 5th wheel hitch that connects to the goose neck ball should be fine.

I see this come-up a lot when someone mentions the Andersen Ultimate Hitch. Once I read this, I have no worries at all. I even believe this warranty is better than the Frame Manufactures:

Agreed. Andersen has definitely put their money where their mouth is. Seems their pretty confident in their product.

Another happy Anderson ultimate hitch customer here! I wouldn't take one of those 100+ lb. hitches of you gave it to me. No grease, no noise and one person can clear the bed without breaking a sweat... oh and it's half the price!
