Autumn ridge water to bathroom is froze

Howdy....

I’m remodeling my house and living in my trailer in Montana and it’s 5 degrees out...

Water in kitchen works just fine but the water to the bathroom must be froze because it doesn’t work when I woke up...

I have furnace (now) on to 80 degrees and two electric heaters but still no water

I can’t tell where the lines go from the kitchen to the bathroom to unfreeze them...does anyone know or have diagrams?

Welcome aboard! What year and model camper do you have?

Most TTs and 5vers the water lines run through the cabinets inside the camper. Some 5vers (more and more) will run the pipes in the basement area (heated if the gas furnace is on).

Many MHs run the pipes outside under the floor totally exposed to the elements.

My recommendation is to start with what you are doing, and open the cabinet doors to get some heat inside the cabinet, where I suspect your pipes run.

How long are you planning to live in the camper? Skirting the camper would help reduce heat loss. Adding an incandescent light bulb or two under there can add a lot of heat.

I have not camped in 5 degree weather (at least not in my TT). When cool weather camping we tend to leave the cabinet doors ajar to allow some heat to migrate back to the pipes.

Without knowing your camper model, it is hard to make more recommendations.

I have an Autumn Ridge with a rear kitchen and a mid trailer bathroom, with a slide out in between. The plumbing between the two run underneath the floor. It also has the “All weather package” that has minimal insulation under the floor and a duct from the furnace that supposed to keep things warm.

I would think in 5 degree it would take some time to thaw out a frozen water line with the furnace and heaters running all day. Hopefully it will warm up enough to thaw out the lines.Trick is going to be keeping it from freezing again at night.

It’s a 2018 autumn ridge 291 bhu

I see the pipes under the cabinets and fridge, those are fine.

I also see the pex in the bathroom but I can’t tell where they go from there

I have it 85 degrees in here for 2 hours now and still nothing to bathroom

Anyone know of hay I has diagrams of the pex runs?

A few years ago we had someone keep and use their trailer on my wife’s property in NYState and they put bales of straw around it like skirting and they never had a freeze problem.

The schematics that JAYCO provides do not show the exact locations only how lines are connected. Water lines are normally run below the floor so if you have a thermal package you need to get heat under the floor. The radiant heat coming from the duct work will not thaw out frozen pipes.

Update: unfroze finally last night

I bought some cheap plastic wrap (maybe 20 bucks) and wraped it around the skirt, taped it with aluminum tape to trailer and threw a heater underneath

was 5-10 degrees all day but did thaw out
