Concern

Hi guys,
I'm concern about the water heater water temperature. I think it's extremely hot and it could damage some of the pipes.
I would like to know if there's any possible adjustment somewhere, or it's something normal.
Thank you in advance for your comments.

Dan.

I think the high temp is by design. You only have 6 gallons, so you don't need to use as much to get a nice warm shower. All three of my RV HW heaters have been that way.

The PEX tubing will handle the temp just fine.

Fixed thermostats from the factory are set to 130 to 140 degrees.

It's normal. Most people are concerned with scolding. If you crack open the bypass you will temper the water.

x2. But does the scolding happen after the scalding?

Dan, You likely have a winterization by pass on your hot water heater. This is so you don't need to put 6 gallons of antifreeze in the water heater. If you do as Jagiven says and open up the bypass valves a bit, you will be mixing cold water with the hot that comes from the heater. Just play with the valves a bit until you get the temperature that suits you.

They are pretty amazing water heaters. My The DW and I can both get good showers in succession and never run out of hot water. Had a 10 gallon Suburban in a previous unit that you could run out if you weren't careful.

My wife complained about it being very hot as well. I didn't think so but I guess it is.

Opening the bypass works very well. There is an adjustable thermostat available.

Thank you guys, I'll try to adjust it with the bypass valve, but also I would like to know about the adjustable thermostat that Mike837go is talking about.
