Jayco 34RSBS

Has anyone here with a hard sided 34RSBS ever weighed it?

The slick sided models seem to weigh more than the metal sided ones, and the listed weight jayco gives always seems to be the lightest weight available.

They list the unloaded vehicle weight at 8840 and the hitch weight at 1250.

Perhaps I should have just done a search, found a trailer like the one I want and the shipping weight was listed in the ad. Well it's almost the same, it has a dinette booth instead of free standing table and chairs.

Dry Weight 9,378 lbs. W/Options
Hitch Weight 1,175 lbs.

So since I got that covered, how do you all like your 34RSBS's? Wife really likes it to use as a park model in Florida as do I.

I can get an excellent deal on one in Tampa, about 160 miles from our campsite. They want $500 to tow it there. It's over the limits of my silverado (9200 listed tow rating, I know I shouldn't crowd the advertised tow rating), but I'm trying to figure out if the 160 mile trip would be a mistake for me if I took it easy.

I like to have a safety margin, my current trailer is probably no more than 6700 pounds loaded.

Just rambling.

That sounds about right - the realistic weights of full size Jayco trailers typically come in about 500lbs over the advertised weight, give or take.

If I had your truck and wanted to move the trailer to a permanent site on a one time basis, I would definitely pay the 500 and save your truck the abuse, eliminate the safety risk (there would be one) and put the liability on them should anything happen.
