No 12V Without Generator While Dry Camping

Hopefully someone has some ideas of what I can check. I have a 2018 25BH that is about 4 months into the warranty. I have been dry camping twice. No issues on the first trip, but this second trip I did not have any 12V power unless I ran the generator - No lights, no tongue jack, nothing. The tow vehicle was not hooked up when I discovered this. Everything worked fine with the generator hooked up, so we used a lot of generator fuel. It was dark when I got home this evening, so I have not done any checks yet. Any ideas?

Easiest first — Check 30Amp fuse on “+” cable near battery. Blown fuse will prevent curent between battery and converter.

Moderately easy — check Reverse Polarity fuses on you converter. These blow if you accidentally connect the battery backward. If blown, this will prevent 12VDC from flowing between battery and converter, so the battery bank couldn’t power any 12v systems but a direct AC connection would still be convertered to 12V and distributed when AC supply is present

Could be tricky — start checking the ground points between converter and battery bank.

Was the battery disconnect switch in the correct position ??

I have the same camper. I'm thinking it's the 30amp fuse right next to the battery. Check that first, and let us know.

Does anyone with the same camper know where the battery disconnect switch is? The dealer did not show this to me during our demo, and I have not seen one anywhere. Maybe I don't have one?

Look in the pass thru compartment up towards the front wall/A frame hitch direction. Should be a red handle sticking out but might be different appearance.

Thanks, but I need to work a double shift, so I won't be able to check until tomorrow. I don't remember any switch in the pass through, but I will give it a look. Thanks again for the replies.

Well, I only needed to work an extra 6 hours, so I decided to take a look with a flashlight when I got home. I found a 30A fuse on a green wire next to the front wall of the camper and it was blown. Fuse replacement solved the problem. I then looked inside the pass through and could not find a battery switch, so I assume that I don't have one. If someone else has the same camper and has a factory switch, please let me know. In the meantime, I guess I will take a few 30A fuses with me just in case this happens again, and I will most likely add a battery shut off switch when I add the second battery to assist in dry camping. I hate these kind of ghost problems, but thanks to everyone for your comments and assistance! -Mark

Glad you found the blown fuse and you're up and running with battery power.

I've got a Jayco 28RLS TT and no battery disconnect. The other TT I owned didn't come with one. I'm not sure why they don't make them standard equipment unless the expectation is that most people remove the battery during long periods of no usage.
