Traveling from San Jose CA to Eugene Or in March

We need to make a trip up to Eugene Oregon in early March. As it is a huge family gathering we were thinking of taking the trailer. Using 5 will take us over 2 mountain passes that are subject to snow. Has anyone used a coastal route. We are pulling a 23 foot trailer over all TV/TT is about 36'.

You could take 101 but I think 5 would be easier if your not site seeing.

Just check weather conditions before leaving!

You should be fine on the passes through Northern California and Southern Oregon in March. Even if there is a freak, cold spring storm, it’s not likely to cause a problem for more than a day or two. Just watch the forecast a ways out and plan accordingly. Going coastal is scenic but you’ll need to pretty much double your travel time. Watch the Caltrans Quick Map web site, too. Good info and highway cams.
