What??? Battery and shore OFF, HOW ARE LIGHTS STILL WORKING?

BATTERY AND SHORE POWER ARE OFF.

Switching out my lead acid battery to lithium. Took the lead acid off the tongue, unplugged the camper from shore. Went back out to camper to push little LA-LI toggle switch on converter and...

HOW ARE THE LIGHTS INSIDE THE CAMPER STILL WORKING????

Cleary, there are things I do not know or understand?

I'm still getting straight in my head things that work on the 12v system and those that don't and also keeping track of power...how it is utilized, etc. I really would like to power the side outlets of the bed with the supplied inverter loop. I have an overkill, 2000w watt MODIFIED inverter that I could throw on the loop. I'm not worried about the non-purity as there wouldn't be any sensitive electronics used. Then again, I'd need a transfer switch too. That's a pain for a couple little outlets.

Amazon has one for under $100 that looks like it would be pretty easy to wire in.

Thanks for the link.

I have questions though. Pretend I'm not going to use a transfer switch...for the sake of making this easy on my brain.

When I used the inverter in my pop-up, it was mounted on the back side of the dinette booth. I had a battery in a compartment where the fridge used to be and I wired that battery to the inverter. I used the AC outlets on the front of the inverter, for electric items inside the camper.

How does the 'inverter prep' loop tie in? If I have wires from battery into inverter, how do I run the power OUT of it..TO the outlets, if there's only 120v outlets on the front?

I thought I understood this, but there's obviously a piece of it missing from my understanding.

The type of Inverter it is designed for has a built in transfer switch.

OKAY! Now, I get it. thank you very much. It is the transfer switch that is missing from my 'I thought I knew how to wire it' equation.

Thank you Grumpy.

I noted a few posts, not too long ago here, a nice wiring diagram someone had made and shared.
