Got me thinking about a comparison. An automobile takes 17-18 MAN hours to complete according to Toyota and more like 30 man hours according to the big 3. Note that there are a lot more man hours than clock hours on the trailer in the video (3 men working on the TT for one hour is 3 man hours). So 6-7 hours on the line is not unusual. It is a small assembly line however, with a production of only 32 units a day. I found a stat from a Nissan plant that indicated 2 cars roll off the line every minute for almost 1000 cars in an 8 hour shift. I remember touring GM's Lordstown OH plant many years ago, and the pace didn't seem that quick, but certainly one a minute or faster. So is the Jayco pace unreasonable?
