What did Jayco say when you called them Online decoders are iffy at best. The one you are using is iffy.

After 1980 the tenth digit of the VIN is the year. B=81, C=82, D=83, E=84. F=85, G=86, H=87, J=88, K=89, L=90, M=91, N=92, P=93, R=94, S=95, T=96, V=97 , W=98, X=99. An example of a Jayco vin is 1UJAJ0106K1B12345 (K=89).

Maybe talk to the highway department or where you change the title to get advise on how to track down what you bought. Do you have the previous owners info?

Many times the VIN is stamped into the top of the front "A" frame, but covered in layers of paint. If on a metal plate it would be on the driver's side front corner of the frame.

What year make and model is listed on the title? Did the Title office provide you with any information that the title was for another vehicle, or better stated, what did they tell you in regards to transferring the title? ~CA

Exactly. While poorly stated by the OP, the problem isn't the VIN, it's the title office. The H in the VIN is a match to what the 'sale' was for. I'd go to a different title office if it was my trailer. When was the last time the person it was purchased from had a plate on it? Call them and see if you can get a copy of the registration certificate for that plate. In some states, once a title or registration is for a certain age after manufacture, the transfer is much easier, not harder. A title for non-motorized may even expire.

If the vin on the title matches the vin in the trailer, then who cares what the rest says? My 82 on the Title and reg. says “Jatco”. Makes no difference if the vin’s match.
