Allegehny State Park

We are taking our 29me to Allegehny State Park in NY from Michigan in a couple of weeks. We had originally planned on the Pennsylvania area but according to the websites the campgrounds will still be closed. Can anyone share some advice on the campgrounds? All we really need is electric. Any sites better than others? Etc.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Try Willow Bay in northeast PA. Looks like they are open. Very nice campground right on the Allegany Reservoir.

Oldnnew,

Thanks for the reply. I did check on this campground. According to the reservation website every campsite with electric is booked, all of the sites without are wide open. I may try to call and check on that...seems suspicious.

I was wondering if you were planning on camping at Allegany State Park (New York) or Alleghany National Forest (Pennsylvania). Yes, each park has a different spelling.

Allegany State Park has 3 campgrounds for RV's - Red House Loop in the Red House Section of the park, Cain Hollow Loop and Diehl Loop (Diehl Loop small sites) in the Quaker Section of the park. Red House loop is very nice with upgraded electrical sites. Cain Hollow is very nice as well but some sites are hilly, which may be a challenge backing in your camper.

There are nice campsites inside the Alleghany National Forest, but to my memory from being there about 10 years ago, very few are electrified.

Have a great trip!

I am leaning more toward Allegehny State Park in NY. The travel distance from Michigan is the same. It seems to have better amenities than the others. Also We are taking our road cycles and mountain bikes. I had read that the roads around the park were in real nice shape. We do not tow a car so all commuting, supplies, etc is done via bicycle.
