Good Sam Caraventures-worth the $$$$?

Hi, we'd like to hear from anyone who has gone on one of Good Sam's Caraventures. We are looking at the 2013 Alaska one but it seems pricey. 43 nights of camping, 16 meals and quite a few tours etc. Cost is $7,689 for one unit with two adults. I have planned lots of road trips since we have retired--the longest being 30 nights but Alaska scares me. We usually travel in the spring and the fall when things aren't as busy and hardly ever make reservations. Alaska has such a short season so I worry about finding camping spots. Any advice? Kathy

Go to the RVBookstore and get a copy of Milepost... it lists things mile by mile on the routes up there

you can google RVBookstore for the web address..

IF I spent $7000.00 for the tour I could not afford the fuel
