Birds nest in the hitch
A couple of days ago I found a nest in my hitch as I prepared to go on a trip today. We have been watching to see if they would mature and fly away before we leave today. Not so, I mounted an old mail box on a shed railing at the same height as the nest and only about 8 feet away. Just before we leave we will move the nest gently to the new home as we pull out.
This bird built the nest in front of the block of foam I had in there to prevent it. Gotta think of a better way.
Hopefully they will make it and be gone when we return on Sunday.

I am super glad you posted, as I had been thinking about your situation. Enjoy your trip. And here is hoping the birds make their move successfully.

Birds nest in the hitch
Well we moved them to the new home and the mom was raising a racket. Hope she comes back soon as we leave.

NICE GUY!!!
We have a family of little Florida lizards that travel with us! They live in the area under the hitch area and they make the round trip. Not sure as to what the family will do this year as we are leaving the TT up here in GA. Have not seen them in the last week, wonder if they relocated to the creek?

Last year, picking up the trailer for a trip, and found a birds nest in the spare tire. Tried moving it to the same location to a trailer just a couple of spots down that I know didn't see much action, but unfortunately it looked like the mom wasn't having it. Felt bad but it was better than driving away with it.

Looks like the ones that hatched made it. There were a few unhatched eggs but no little dead ones

We live in a good neighborhood. No worries, I left it there as an option to my hitch pin. Now to seal it better!
