Driving Across Country

Relocating for work and will be driving from Washington to Ohio. We will be taking the Jayco 195RB with us, but plan to stay at hotels along the way, as the company is paying for them. Any good way to find out which hotels have parking for a truck pulling a trailer? I hesitate to call and ask, as most likely they will just say no problem either way.

Google earth is one way. But most would have space unless it's over a busy period when the motel is full. Given a choice Id rather sleep in my own bed and stay in parks with full hook ups.

There is a paucity of motels in Kansas and the Great Plains
You can always unhook and put the tt in one space and the tv in another.
Ivebeen across several times and was not much impressed with motels
Try and have your co put you on a expenditure allotment and stay in a full serve campground
Bet you would sleep better in your own bed
Unless of course your tt is packed everywhere with stuff
We've not missed motels in six weeks
If you go to Concordia KS all the motels have lots of parking and they all are crap with a sketchy clientele

The lower priced hotels away from cities (like Motel 6, Days Inns, etc.) nearly always have room because they cater to semi-drivers who get tired of sleeping in the cab.

Years ago I stayed in lots of motels when delivering travel trailers. What I did was PLAN my stops and CALL and ask about their parking when making my plans. In most cases, the front desk knew whether or not a TV and TT would be OK. And, like BuddyRay said, lower priced places away from major cities often had parking for big trucks and RVs. Like waggs999 said, Google maps often helps, too, so if they said there was no problem, use Google maps to see if you agree with what they said.

I suggest, too, that you plan to STOP EARLY. If you're there before other folks, you'll be able to pick your parking spaces - not take what might be left. It also gives you the chance for a plan 'B' for the night, if needed.

Next, when parking in the lot, I suggest you plan your parking to be sure you have room to LEAVE when the lot fills up.

In general, where the terrain is open and flat, usually I had little trouble finding motels with sufficient parking. Where the area was hilly etc., all parking lots tended to be smaller.
